2.7 General Rules and Regulations General As a tenant you are expected to take good care of the building and appliances as well as the furniture. Living with other international students is a great opportunity to broaden your views but also means that you should show respect for each other. Pick up after yourself when you have been using the common facilities such as the laundry room. Do your best to create a good living environment. Please note that the general rule in the housing area is no disturbance after 22.00 at night. Bicycles Bicycles are to be parked in the bicycle stands or in the bicycle garage (if applicable). Due to fire regulations no bicycles are allowed in the corridors or rooms. Bicycles left in the wrong place will be removed Emergency exits Entrances, stairwells and corridors should not be blocked, as the building must be evacuated quickly in the event of a fire or other emergencies. Objects blocking exit paths will be seized and returned at a fee. Tenants who are found to be repeatedly blocking emergency exits may have their contracts terminated. Entrance doors Propping corridor or main entrance doors open is prohibited (break-ins and thefts are common in dormitory areas). This is also important for the purpose of preventing the spread of fire. Fire protection Tenants are not allowed to tamper with the fire detectors, as they are sensitive to touch, which might cause them to sound the alarm. Fire alarms triggered by carelessness will be charged to the tenant in question. Tenants should pay special attention when cooking. All appliances used in the kitchen or bathroom must have a grounded plug. Any lamps that can cause fire if unattended are not allowed. Furniture Rooms are fully furnished with a bed, wardrobe, desk, chair. Bed linen, towels and a shower curtain are not provided. You can buy a pillow and/or blanket at the International Housing Office. A pillow (60 x 50 cm) costs SEK 50 and a blanket (150 x 200 cm) SEK 150. Moving furniture between rooms/corridors is not allowed. Damaged common furniture will be replaced and the cost will debited to all the tenants in the corridor in question. Furniture for indoor use may not be taken out onto terraces or balconies 16
