2.17 Internet at AFB and Micklagård
Getting started
AFB and Micklagård are both connected to Lunds Energi Urban network.
Internet is not included in the rent for tenants within AFB and Micklagård. You
have to register with an internet operator yourself. This is very easy:
Plug in your computer to the internet socket in your room
Open the web browser.
Different internet operators will be presented to you. See below for
recommendation, which one to choose.
After choosing and registering with an operator, you will be able to go online.
Payment of internet (Internet connection not included in the rent)
Not all International students have access to a Swedish bank account with
Internet service. Therefore you need to apply for a paper invoice when you
activate the internet connection of your choice. This will cost an additional 20 to
25 SEK per month from the company in question and a cash payment fee from
35 SEK (FOREX) to 80 SEK (Your Bank) for each invoice paid in cash.
It might be a good idea to choose an operator that offers long invoice periods
and accepts your LU ID number.
We advise that you base your choice on your specific needs and preferences i.e.
speed of connection, security or cost.
Problems with your internet
Please note that the staff at the International housing office cannot answer
questions regarding Internet connection. If you have not selected a service
provider, call Lunds Energi Open City Network Getting Started Support on
046-35 60 50. If you have selected a service provider, call the service provider‟s
customer service/support line.
