As the leaves begin to change colour, so comes to an end a fantastic sailing season, during which,
undoubtedly, you would agree so much has been achieved around the club in such a short space of
time.
I would like to congratulate you all on the efforts put in by everyone.
Congratulations to Kaye Harris for taking out our final members’ draw on social sailing Wednesday
night. Kaye’s name was about the tenth drawn from the hat with most of our regular attendees names
drawn but alas they were not there to collect the cash.
This month has seen the end to a very busy year of sail training. The training has far exceeded
everyone’s expectations and would not have been possible to facilitate without the help of all our
enthusiastic volunteers.
Congratulations to Sailability on another successful season. This month saw Simon Brown take part in
the Access Championships – our thanks to Simon for representing the club. We look forward to
Sailability recommencing in mid October 2012.
This month we welcomed back the King Valley School Cluster. These small rural schools enjoyed three
days of camping at the club. It was nice to see the school and members socialising on our final
members night. It was great to have some of the students making a personal thankyou to the club
members present. This notice was left behind on the whiteboard as a thankyou -
I have been told that the competition was fierce for the final round of the Summer Sailing series. I
snapped a photo of Lee Geraghty (see next page) taking the opportunity for some last minute touching
up on the Laser handling skills. Hope it helped…..
