at Easton Airport<br />
Day 2013<br />
Easton Airport Day is a fun-filled annual<br />
event offering the whole family an up<br />
close opportunity to visit their local airport<br />
and see what flying is all about. <strong>The</strong> Easton<br />
Airport is presenting its fifth annual day this<br />
year on Saturday, September 28, 2013.<br />
Back by popular demand, Easton Airport<br />
Day 2013 will begin with a Hot Air Balloon<br />
Launch at 7am. Teams can register to<br />
compete in the Jet Pull at 9am. At 10am the<br />
airport will close to all aircraft for 1 hour to<br />
accommodate a 5K fun run and 1 mile walk<br />
on the runways and taxiways. <strong>The</strong> schedule<br />
of activities continues throughout the day<br />
with formation flyovers, the world-famous<br />
rubber chicken drop, plane rides and introductory<br />
lessons. Displays of unique aircraft<br />
and classic cars will also be available.<br />
General admission and parking is free<br />
for the entire day. Advance registration with<br />
payment is required for teams taking part in<br />
Jet Pull and for individuals and families<br />
joining the Run/Walk. <strong>The</strong> Easton Airport<br />

Day VIP program offers interested guests a<br />
behind the scenes look at the unique aircraft<br />
that will be flying the formations, a seat in<br />
the pilots briefing and the best seats on the<br />
tarmac to view the flying formations. Food<br />
and beverages will be available for purchase<br />
from Easton Ruritan Club and Sugar Buns.<br />
Easton Airport Day is a component<br />
fund of the Mid-Shore Community Foundation.<br />
Proceeds from the day go to support<br />
good works in the community. Organizers<br />
select a nonprofit to receive the proceeds<br />
from that year’s event. For 2013, Habitat for<br />
Humanity Choptank has been selected as the<br />
beneficiary. Funding is designated for Repair<br />
Corps, Habitat Choptank’s housing repair<br />
program which will assist U.S. veterans<br />
and their families whose homes are in critical<br />
need of repair.<br />
