BOSCH AND PBR:
BUILDING A BETTER BRAKE PROGRAM
Over the years PBR has been recognised as one of the leaders in supplying high quality brake products to
the automotive aftermarket, particularly brake hydraulics.
However, like many other brake product
suppliers, it didn’t supply a complete brake
program.
But things are changing, with the coupling
of the PBR brake range with the Bosch brake
range to establish the most comprehensive
range of brake products available from a single
entity.
It really is the best of both worlds. Bosch is
a global leader in braking systems with specific
expertise in the development of ABS systems,
whilst PBR has a strong background in brake
hydraulics and foundation brake.
The resultant brake program is significant
because it offers a full range of friction
GUIDE TO SAFE
WORK-RELATED
DRIVING
VACC, the peak automotive industry body in
Victoria, is publicising information aimed at
managers and drivers of company cars and
commercial vehicles.
The Guide to Safe Work Related Driving is an
important document that provides practical advice to
employers and employees on measures they can take to
reduce risks associated with work related driving.
Victorian Roads and Ports Minister Tim Pallas,
Victoria Police Deputy Commissioner, Ken Lay and the
VACC presented the guide at Freight Week 2009.
"Every time you step into your company car or work
vehicle, you are subject to health and safety
regulations," VACC Executive Director, David Purchase,
said.
"The Guide to Safe Work Related Driving spells out,
in clear terms, that a commercial vehicle is a workplace
and employers and drivers have responsibilities."
Work Safe and the Transport Accident Commission
(TAC) has produced the guide which is important
because about 30 percent of all vehicles registered in
Australia are used for business purposes and more than
50 percent of all new vehicles are purchased initially
for commercial use.
A third of all travel is work related, fleet vehicles
travel about three times the distance of the average
private car, fleet driving represents an increased crash
risk relative to non-fleet driving and vehicle accidents
represent 41 percent of all compensated work
fatalities.
products including disc pads and brake shoes
and a rapidly growing range of disc rotors,
which has been extended to include brake
drums.
It features an expanded range of hydraulic
cylinders, the first available ABS program for
the aftermarket and an impressive range of
brake service consumables including brake
fluid, greases, assembly fluid and brake cleaner.
Brake specialists or businesses with a
serious interest in brake servicing will no longer
need to shop around with multiple suppliers
because it’s all available through one source.
That’s a significant saving in efficiency for any
business.
If you also consider the high quality
expectations of both the Bosch and PBR
brands it is no surprise that more and more
businesses are making this their first choice in
brake.
