through the eyes <strong>of</strong> artists and photographers from the early 19th century<br />
until today. A variety <strong>of</strong> media will be discussed, including paintings, prints,<br />
photography, and sculpture. The purpose <strong>of</strong> the course will be primarily to<br />
study Euro-American artistic conventions/tradition and how they have<br />
been employed in defining western history, culture, and native peoples as<br />
