Post Disaster SAP Evaluator
Post Disaster Safety Assessment Program (SAP) is a State of
California - Office of Emergency Services (CAL-OES) program
that is a mandatory course for all BCA inspection staff. This
course trains qualified staff in the evaluation and assessment of
structures damaged from a natural disaster. Rapid and detailed
assessments are discussed and all participants take part in a
table top exercise of evaluating various structures based on
noted damage. The afternoon section covers lifeline facilities and
safety.
Registration by the state requires that all applicants fill out a
registration form, take an affirmation/loyalty oath and have their
picture taken for a Disaster Service Worker (DSW) ID card.

Post Disaster SAP Train-the-Trainer

This course is given by State of California staff to certify
instructors or trainers in the Post Disaster Safety Assessment
Program training. This course trains and certifies instructors on
how to teach/train material from Applied Technology Council
(ATC). Covers ATC-20 (Field Manual: Post Earthquake Safety
Evaluation of Buildings) and ATC-45 (Field Manual: Safety
Evaluation of Buildings after Wind Storms and Floods).

On-site seminar at a fastener distributor. All types of Hilti
fasteners, anchors, bonding material and equipment are
presented.

Introduction to Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design
(LEED) "Green Building" design, construction, and inspection.
Course covers the 69 possible point system for evaluation of
LEED design levels;
Certified 26–32 points Silver 33–38 points Gold 39–51
points Platinum 52–69 points. Discusses the benefits of LEEDs
and presents the council approved ordinance that all newly
constructed city buildings be certified as a Green Building.
