Inspection Staff<br />
<strong>Training</strong> Policy:<br />
All inspection staff is required to maintain a level <strong>of</strong><br />
competence in their field <strong>of</strong> expertise by attending<br />
on-going refresher classes.<br />
In addition, all staff is required to attend all mandatory<br />
training that is provided by the <strong>BCA</strong> <strong>Training</strong> Section or the<br />
Personnel Department.<br />
Any employee may attend supplementary training,<br />
<strong>of</strong>fered by the Personnel Department or an outside vendor<br />
provided they get approval from <strong>BCA</strong> management.<br />
Employees are strongly encouraged to attend any<br />
pr<strong>of</strong>essional training, college courses or seminars for their<br />
career enhancement.<br />

Curriculum:<br />
<strong>Bureau</strong> administrative, clerical, and support personnel are<br />
provided training as a means <strong>of</strong> enhancing their skills,<br />
furthering their knowledge, and ensuring optimum<br />
performance <strong>of</strong> their assigned tasks.<br />
The training curriculum is organized based on the three<br />
groups responsible for training. The course descriptions<br />
and certificates are located in the appendices.<br />
The enclosed training matrix and class descriptions (see<br />
Appendix) describe the mandatory in-house Inspector<br />
<strong>Training</strong> required <strong>of</strong> each and every new employee hired<br />
as a Construction Inspector. Also included is the<br />
International Code Council (ICC) certified Deputy Building<br />
Inspector training program.<br />
In addition to mandatory in-house Inspector <strong>Training</strong>, the<br />
<strong>Bureau</strong> is committed to continuing education for its<br />
Supervisors and Managers as well as the career<br />
enhancement <strong>of</strong> all its employees. To that end, the<br />
Career Enhancement Classes, Supervisor and<br />
Management Classes, and Safety <strong>Training</strong> Classes listed<br />
are <strong>of</strong>fered upon availability to each and every employee.<br />
