Specialist modules <strong>in</strong> resort and spa management provide students<br />

with key <strong>in</strong>dustry knowledge. The modules <strong>of</strong> ‘Resort F&B Operations<br />

<strong>Management</strong>’ and ‘Spa Operations <strong>Management</strong>’, <strong>in</strong>clude hands-on<br />

shadow<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> areas <strong>of</strong> operations management with<strong>in</strong> SHMS, ensur<strong>in</strong>g<br />

students acquire the skills and competencies that will enhance their<br />

degree <strong>of</strong> employability.<br />

Theory modules provide students with detailed <strong>in</strong>sight <strong>in</strong>to <strong>in</strong>dustry<br />

trends as well as public relations, e-commerce and cross-cultural<br />

communication. The modules ‘Develop<strong>in</strong>g International Bus<strong>in</strong>ess<br />

Leadership Skills’ and ‘Operations and Project <strong>Management</strong>’ allow<br />

students to apply these theories and strategies.<br />

The dynamic and rapidly develop<strong>in</strong>g F&B and restaurant <strong>in</strong>dustry is<br />

<strong>in</strong> need <strong>of</strong> leaders possess<strong>in</strong>g a robust comb<strong>in</strong>ation <strong>of</strong> academic and<br />

experiential knowledge. The MIB <strong>in</strong> F&B and Restaurant <strong>Management</strong><br />

provides students with <strong>in</strong>-depth <strong>in</strong>dustry skills ready for application.<br />

Students undertake applied modules <strong>in</strong> which they are responsible as<br />

managers <strong>in</strong> the <strong>in</strong>dustry <strong>of</strong> real-life F&B and restaurant operations,<br />

comb<strong>in</strong>ed with key theoretical underp<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g delivered though lectures<br />

and <strong>in</strong>teractive workshops. Due to the unique comb<strong>in</strong>ation <strong>of</strong><br />

theoretical and applied modules students are well prepared to develop<br />
