Advising
Farmington Campus – in the Educational Services
Center (clock tower building). monday, Wednesday and
Friday 8 a.m. 5 p.m., Tuesday - 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.,
and Thursday - 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
East and West Campuses – Advisors are available
Thursday, November 15 at San Juan College East in
Aztec and San Juan College West in Kirtland. To
schedule an appointment, call SJC East at (505)
334-3831, ext. 200; or SJC West at (505) 598-5897.
Students new to SJC start in the Advising and
Counseling Center on main campus. New students
are required to take the Accuplacer, meet with an
advisor, and attend a new student orientation session
prior to registering for classes. Transfer students
should bring unoffi cial transcripts to their advisor
appointment in lieu of taking the Accuplacer.
Continuing students who have completed fewer than
25 credit hours are required to meet with their
advisor prior to registering for the next semester. All
other students are encouraged to meet with an advisor
each semester.
Advisors are available to:
• Assist you in planning your degree path
• provide information about course content
• Assist you in determining the sequence of
your coursework
• Assist you in defi ning and meeting your goals
• Answer your questions as you navigate your
way around college
Online classes
If you are interested in taking classes online, be sure
to visit and explore sanjuancollege.edu/sjconline.

questions you may have. It is recommended to consult
with your advisor before registering for online classes.
Bookstore
The College Bookstore, located in room 1940, near the
West Classroom Complex on the main Farmington
campus, offers everything you will need for classes —
new and used textbooks, class supplies, electronic
equipment, San Juan College spirit wear and souvenirs
and supplies for special courses, such as drafting, art,
engineering, and others. Bring your class schedule when
you visit the Bookstore so we can help you locate the
right textbook. Or call (505) 566-3260.

You will be able to find both the International
Standard Book Number (ISBN) or author, title, publisher
and copyright date, as well as retail price.

Charging
The fi rst day to charge to your student account, if a
sponsor is paying for your books and supplies, is always
the monday before the fi rst day of instruction.
Tax-free
The bookstore offers tax free on textbooks when you
show a current SJC student ID. To obtain an ID go to
the Enrollment Services Offi ce.
