Username and password What’s my username and password? The campus logon account is the account you use to log onto the portal. Your username is the first letter of your first name, the first letter of your middle name (if you do not have a middle name, this letter will be skipped), the first 12 letters of your last name and the last two digits of your social security number. Example: Student name: Bubba L. Schwarzenegger Social security #: 123-45-6789 Username: Blschwarzenegg89 your email address will be: username@my.sanjuancollege.edu Example: Blschwarzenegg89@my.sanjuancollege.edu The default password is sjcp + the last four digits of your social security number. For example if your social security number is 123-45-6789, your default password would be sjcp6789. Password Security Your San Juan College password gives you access to your personal student information. Since your information is confidential, your password should be kept secure. If at any time you believe your password security has been jeopardized, you should change your password. If you forget your password, the Help Desk will reset it to something only you will know. Remember . . . Never tell anyone your password. You must log on to use any SJC computer. Test your login accounts in one of the SJC computer labs before attending your fi rst class. This will ensure that your accounts are set up correctly and working properly. Always log-off the computer when finished. San Juan College provides every student an email account through outlook.live.com, with 10 gigabytes of storage space. You may access your email from the mY SJC portal or mail.live.com. Associated Students Associated Students of San Juan College (A.S./S.J.C.) provides students a voice in the quality of their educational experience and an opportunity for students to gain important leadership experience through active involvement in Student Government. Associated Students not only provides leadership for the student body but also offers a wide variety of entertainment and provides funding and support for an extensive activities program. Students with Children Child Care The Child and Family Development Center, located on the east side of the campus, offers full-day programs for the children of full time (minimum 12 credits) San Juan College students; a limited number of child care slots are available for staff and faculty. Infant, toddler and preschool aged children are eligible for enrollment. The Center maintains a waiting list and parents are encouraged to put their child(ren) on the list at the earliest possible date as the traditional wait time for enrollment is a year and a half to two years. Toy Lending Library The Family Resource Center Toy Lending Library is sponsored by the San Juan College Training and Technical Assistance program. The library provides developmentally appropriate toys, books, games, and resources for the children and families of San Juan County. There is no charge to borrow toys or resource materials from the library. The library hours are: mon., Tues., & Thurs. 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Wednesday 10 .am. - 6 p.m. Closed daily from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. and closed on Friday The Family Resource Center is located at the San Juan College Annex, 3539 E. 30th Street. Students with Disabilities If you have documented physical, emotional, or learning disabilities, the Disability Services program is available to assist you. Students are responsible for seeking accommodations each semester. Tutoring If you would like to enhance your learning, then check out San Juan College’s FREE tutoring services. The math, writing and science tutoring centers are located In Center for Student Engagement, Room 1611. Tutoring is available at the following times. monday – Thursday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, 8 a.m. to Noon Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The accounting lab is located near the School of Business offi ce in Room 7106. Veteran’s Support Center The Veteran’s Support Center focuses on supporting the educational success of U.S. military Veterans and their families. The Center assists Veterans with college entrance and fi nancial aid application processes, adjustment into post-secondary lifestyle, and academic success strategies. Coordination and advisement is provided on career goals, academic planning, GI Bill and fi nancial aid benefi ts, personal guidance, and educational support services. In addition, the Center can be used as a liaison with other Veteran specifi c assistance offi ces and programs, and offers special programs and enrichment activities. Volunteer Center The Volunteer Center is located on the lower level of the West Classroom Complex. The Volunteer Center matches volunteers with community organizations within San Juan County that meet their interests and skills.
