Username and password<br />

What’s my username and password?<br />

The campus logon account is the account you use to<br />

log onto the portal. Your username is the first letter<br />

of your first name, the first letter of your middle name<br />

(if you do not have a middle name, this letter will be<br />

skipped), the first 12 letters of your last name and the<br />

last two digits of your social security number.<br />

Example:<br />

Student name: Bubba L. Schwarzenegger<br />

Social security #: 123-45-6789<br />

Username: Blschwarzenegg89<br />

your email address will be:<br />

username@my.sanjuancollege.edu<br />

Example: Blschwarzenegg89@my.sanjuancollege.edu<br />

The default password is sjcp + the last four digits<br />

of your social security number. For example if your<br />

social security number is 123-45-6789, your default<br />

password would be sjcp6789.<br />

Password Security<br />

Your <strong>San</strong> <strong>Juan</strong> <strong>College</strong> password gives you access<br />

to your personal student information. Since your<br />

information is confidential, your password should be<br />

kept secure. If at any time you believe your password<br />

security has been jeopardized, you should change<br />

your password. If you forget your password, the Help<br />

Desk will reset it to something only you will know.<br />

Remember . . .<br />

Never tell anyone your password.<br />

You must log on to use any SJC computer.<br />

Test your login accounts in one of the SJC computer<br />

labs before attending your fi rst class. This will<br />

ensure that your accounts are set up correctly and<br />

working properly.<br />

Always log-off the computer when finished.<br />

<strong>San</strong> <strong>Juan</strong> <strong>College</strong> provides every student an email<br />

account through outlook.live.com, with 10<br />

gigabytes of storage space. You may access your<br />

email from the mY SJC portal or mail.live.com.<br />

You can use your laptop computer on the SJC<br />

network if your laptop has a wireless network card.<br />

Associated Students<br />

Associated Students of <strong>San</strong> <strong>Juan</strong> <strong>College</strong> (A.S./S.J.C.)<br />

provides students a voice in the quality of their educational<br />

experience and an opportunity for students to<br />

gain important leadership experience through active<br />

involvement in Student Government. Associated Students<br />

not only provides leadership for the student body<br />

but also offers a wide variety of entertainment and<br />

provides funding and support for an extensive activities<br />

Students with Children<br />

Child Care<br />

The Child and Family Development Center, located on<br />

the east side of the campus, offers full-day programs<br />

for the children of full time (minimum 12 credits) <strong>San</strong><br />

<strong>Juan</strong> <strong>College</strong> students; a limited number of child care<br />

slots are available for staff and faculty. Infant, toddler<br />

and preschool aged children are eligible for enrollment.<br />

The Center maintains a waiting list and parents<br />

are encouraged to put their child(ren) on the list at the<br />

earliest possible date as the traditional wait time for<br />

enrollment is a year and a half to two years.<br />

Toy Lending Library<br />

The Family Resource Center Toy Lending Library<br />

is sponsored by the <strong>San</strong> <strong>Juan</strong> <strong>College</strong> Training and<br />

Technical Assistance program. The library provides<br />

developmentally appropriate toys, books, games, and<br />

resources for the children and families of <strong>San</strong> <strong>Juan</strong><br />

County. There is no charge to borrow toys or resource<br />

materials from the library. The library hours are:<br />

mon., Tues., & Thurs. 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.<br />

Wednesday<br />

10 .am. - 6 p.m.<br />

Closed daily from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.<br />

and closed on Friday<br />

The Family Resource Center is located at the <strong>San</strong><br />

<strong>Juan</strong> <strong>College</strong> Annex, 3539 E. 30th Street.<br />

Students with Disabilities<br />

If you have documented physical, emotional, or learning<br />

disabilities, the Disability Services program is<br />

available to assist you. Students are responsible for<br />

seeking accommodations each semester. Accommodations<br />

may include audio textbooks, note takers, test<br />

modifi cations, special software, etc. For information,<br />

visit the Advising and Counseling Center in the Educational<br />
