Students may register online if . . .<br />

1. The student is a RETURNING <strong>San</strong> <strong>Juan</strong> <strong>College</strong><br />

student and has attended classes anytime during the<br />

last three regular semesters. If the student is degreeseeking<br />

and has completed less than 25 credits, the<br />

student must meet with his or her advisor to obtain<br />

registration authorization.<br />

2. The student is a new student at <strong>San</strong> <strong>Juan</strong> <strong>College</strong> and<br />

has submitted a completed admission application to the<br />

Enrollment Services office, all required documents have<br />

been received in the Enrollment Services office, has<br />

taken the Accuplacer Exam (degree-seeking students)<br />

if required, has been issued a password and attended<br />

New Student Orientation.<br />

Students may not register online if …<br />

1. Student is an Early Admit or Dual Credit student and<br />

is enrolled in high school.<br />

2. Student is a new student or a new transfer student<br />

and has not completed the admission application<br />

process or has not attended a New Student Orientation.<br />

3. Student is on academic suspension or probation,<br />

financial or admissions restriction or has a hold placed<br />

on his/her account. Contact the Enrollment Services<br />

office at (505) 566-3545 for specifics. Registration and<br />

financial holds must be cleared before registration.<br />

Online registration<br />

instructions<br />

Go to https://webadvisor.sanjuancollege.edu<br />

• Click on “log in”<br />

• Enter your username and password.(see page 50)<br />

Click the “Submit” button.<br />

• Select “Current Students”<br />

• Under “Registration,” select the “Register for Sections”<br />

option.<br />

• You can also add and drop courses after your initial<br />

registration using the same procedure (see page 1<br />

for complete list of deadlines). Note: a student may<br />

not withdraw (drop all courses) from SJC online.<br />

Unable to attend after registering?<br />

If the student is unable to attend classes, it is the student’s<br />

responsibility to officially withdraw from the <strong>College</strong>. The<br />

student is responsible for all charges assessed to<br />

his/her account. (See page 5 for refund schedule.)<br />

Step 3 — Pay for Classes<br />

Payment deadline<br />

• 12 p.m., Friday, January 4, <strong>2013</strong><br />

• Any student who has not paid in full by 12 p.m. on<br />

January 4 will be dropped from all classes for<br />

non-payment. This includes late start classes.<br />

• For registrations after Friday, January 4, tuition and<br />

fees are due at the time of registration and must<br />

be paid immediately.<br />

• Full payment means either 100% paid or enrolled in<br />

NelNet (e-Cashier) electronic student payment plan.<br />

Acceptable methods of payment<br />

• Credit/debit card - Visa, MasterCard or Discover<br />

• Cash, check or money order. Mailed payments must<br />

be received in the Business Office before 12 p.m. by<br />

the appropriate deadline.<br />

• NelNet (e-Cashier) payment plan is the approved<br />

payment plan for SJC. Go to sanjuancollege.<br />

edu/register to sign up. There is a $25 fee to NelNet<br />

(e-Cashier) upon enrollment. Students must reenroll<br />

for this plan each term.<br />

Restriction of services<br />

Students with delinquent accounts will be denied access<br />

to SJC services. These services include, but are not<br />

limited to:<br />

1. Registration<br />

2. Transcripts<br />

3. Official withdrawal from classes<br />

4. Library privileges<br />

5. <strong>College</strong> assisted housing<br />

6. Child and Family Development Center<br />

If payment arrangements are not made on a timely basis,<br />

the delinquent account will be placed with a collection<br />

agency. All costs will be calculated at the maximum rate<br />

permitted by New Mexico Statute.<br />

Returned checks<br />

Sometimes oversights occur and a bank will return a<br />

check as non-sufficient funds (NSF) for payment. As<br />

a rule, the SJC bank processes NSF checks twice for<br />

payment to the student’s account. The Business Office<br />

will mail a certified letter to the student’s current address<br />

notifying the student of the NSF check and fees with<br />

the conditions for repayment. Some of the conditions<br />

include: repayment by cash, money order or credit card<br />

(unless the NSF check was for cash). In addition, the<br />

student may be dropped from classes and denied<br />

<strong>College</strong> privileges and services. A $35 fee is assessed<br />

on all returned checks.<br />
