semester. Tori attended Wine 3/9 in<br />

reunion with Tri Delta sisters Laura<br />
Werkheiser ’09, Chelsea Michael,<br />
Kelsey Boyd ’11, Ruth Dennehy ’12,<br />
and Dafna Charles ’13 (see<br />

This past year, Elina Stelman<br />
worked at an immigration law firm in<br />
Connecticut. In June, she was<br />
offered a position at publisher<br />
Penguin Group in Manhattan.<br />
Jason Siegel of Westchester, N.Y.,<br />
is an energy engineer in Manhattan.<br />
Jeromie Ballreich, who planned to<br />
graduate with a master’s of health<br />
economics from Johns Hopkins this<br />
past summer, is considering additional<br />
graduate studies. Jeromie would like to<br />
work in health economics consulting,<br />
research, or as a professor.<br />
Anny Lopez attends Rutgers<br />
School of Law in Newark, N.J. She<br />
expects to graduate in May and focus<br />
on criminal or immigration law.<br />
Liz Graybill graduated in June<br />
from Ohio University with a master’s<br />
in geology. She moved to Scranton,<br />
Pa., where she works for Kaufman<br />
Engineering as a geologic consultant<br />
to various mining operations.<br />
Ezra Tischler participated in a<br />
summer fellowship program with<br />
Pres. Barack Obama’s reelection<br />
campaign. This fall, he plans to<br />
begin work toward a master’s in<br />
environmental studies at University<br />
of Pennsylvania.<br />
Austin Kennedy joined the<br />
second cohort of NYC Teaching<br />
Residency for School Turn Around.<br />
He is paired with a mentor teacher<br />
for this school year and will become<br />
a full-time math teacher in NYC<br />
public schools next year. Austin is<br />
working on a master’s in adolescent<br />
education at St. John’s University.<br />
Mathew Pezon was awarded a<br />
Fulbright Scholarship to study<br />
international management at IE<br />
Business School in Madrid. The<br />
10-month master’s program begins<br />

Mosi London, who completed<br />
his master’s degree at University of<br />
Delaware, is working on his Ph.D.<br />
Mickey Adelman, who is<br />
finishing his master’s degree at<br />
Cornell University, has been involved<br />
with Engineers Without Borders in<br />
Central America.<br />
Jeff Shoemaker completed his<br />
master’s degree at Stanford University<br />
in 2011. He works in Los Angeles as<br />
an earthquake engineer.<br />
Simon Dilmanian started<br />
a master’s program at Boston<br />
<strong>College</strong> Carroll Graduate School<br />
of Management. He is expected<br />
to graduate next summer.<br />
Samriddhi Malla was named<br />
associate analyst at NERA Economic<br />
Consulting.<br />
Delta Delta Delta sister Sarah<br />
Christy attended the Third Annual<br />
Stars and Crescent Evening to benefit<br />
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital<br />
in NYC. The NYC Tri Delta Alumnae<br />
Chapter raised nearly $30,000 at the<br />
event (see photo online).<br />

2011<br />
Fulbright Scholarship<br />
recipient Brian Carey<br />
is conducting seismic assessment at<br />
University of the West Indies’<br />
Seismic Research Center in Trinidad<br />
and Tobago. Brian also received a<br />
three-year National Science<br />
Foundation (NSF) Graduate<br />
Research Fellowship in recognition<br />
of his abilities, accomplishments, and<br />
potential for contribution to the<br />
engineering and science fields.<br />
Mechanical engineering graduate<br />
Alicia Clark was also awarded a NSF<br />
Graduate Research Fellowship.<br />
Ashley Juavinett was awarded a<br />
Socrates Fellowship. The Socrates<br />
Fellows Program is an NSF-funded<br />
program that awards 12-month<br />
fellowships to University of<br />
California–San Diego doctoral<br />
students and stipends for San Diegoarea<br />
teachers to work together to<br />
enhance the science classroom.<br />
Ashley will help create curricula,<br />
teach classes, and introduce high<br />
school students to her research. She<br />
is studying the visual system of mice<br />
with Dr. Edward Callaway at Salk<br />
Institute in La Jolla, Calif.<br />
In August, Mike Handzo finished<br />
a term of AmeriCorps VISTA service<br />
with Lehigh Valley Community Land<br />
Trust. This fall, he planned to begin<br />
his master’s in political science through<br />
Lehigh University Community<br />
Fellows Program.<br />
Carissa Jung is enrolled in a<br />
master’s in professional studies<br />
program in psychology at Teachers<br />
<strong>College</strong>, Columbia University. She<br />
expects to graduate in May.<br />
Washcarina Martinez, who was<br />
drawn to Rutgers School of Law by<br />
its diverse population and reputation<br />
for activism, is excelling at the<br />
university. She plans to graduate in<br />
May 2014, after which she would like<br />
to concentrate on public interest law.<br />
Kelly McNulty will participate<br />
in a Fulbright English Teaching<br />
Assistantship in South Africa from<br />
January until November 2013. She<br />
hopes to support a nonprofit that<br />
works with youth, while teaching<br />
English to high school and college<br />
students. Last year, Kelly taught<br />
kindergarten at Inspired Teaching<br />
Public Charter School in Washington,<br />
