Diabetes Cure Alliance, a nonprofit<br />

diabetes research by better informing<br />
donors. Cara also volunteers as travel<br />
and leisure editor for Lifestyle +<br />
Charity <strong>Magazine</strong>, a publication that<br />
promotes philanthropic lifestyles and<br />
a nominee for Best Philanthropic<br />
Business of the Year–East in this<br />
year’s CLASSY Awards.<br />
Mark Palframan, who is a<br />
graduate research assistant in<br />
Virginia Tech’s aerospace and ocean<br />
engineering department, is pursuing<br />
his master’s and Ph.D. in aerospace<br />
engineering.<br />
Recently engaged, Marc<br />
Quilling and Brittni Kitaen Evans<br />
plan to marry in fall 2014.<br />
Belinda Sabinda is a science<br />
fellow at Lawrenceville School,<br />
New Jersey.<br />
Now in her second year in<br />
Teach for America, Ingrid Warner<br />
is teaching seventh- and eighthgrade<br />
social studies and tenth-grade<br />
English at Fountain Square Academy<br />
in Indianapolis. She expects to<br />
complete her master’s in teaching<br />
at Marian University in May.<br />
Haruki Yamaguchi is a graduate<br />
program analyst at Deutsche Bank.<br />

Celebrate<br />
<strong>Lafayette</strong>’s<br />
Founding<br />
For the past two years, on March 9,<br />
more than 500 alumni from<br />
Hong Kong to Dallas and from<br />
San Francisco to Boston have<br />
gathered in 20 locations for<br />
“Wine 3⁄9,” a celebration of the<br />
signing of the charter by the governor<br />
of Pennsylvania March 9, 1826,<br />
establishing <strong>Lafayette</strong> <strong>College</strong>.<br />
Alumni are encouraged to gather<br />
on March 9, 2013, for this annual<br />
event. Registration and details at<br />

then “alumni events.”<br />
2012<br />
Anna Schulman, who<br />
is enrolled in Lehigh’s<br />
one-year master’s program in<br />
structural engineering, says the<br />
program is a “dream come true.”<br />
Despite the university’s impressive<br />
structures lab, Anna was adamant<br />
that her gratitude and love for<br />
<strong>Lafayette</strong> remains unfaltering.<br />
Lauren Firth and Mike<br />
DiPietro, who both started work in<br />
Allentown, Pa., joined Sam<br />
Courtney and Brian Peacock in<br />
exploring Bethlehem this past<br />
summer.<br />
Dan Ricken and Matthew<br />
Scheps took a summer road trip<br />
across the continental United States.<br />
Their time in Ohio included a visit<br />
to Bowling Green University, where<br />
Dan planned to begin a master’s in<br />
theater arts this fall.<br />
Joel Hindelang began work as a<br />
project engineer with Worth & Co.,<br />
while Matthew Scheps joined Kiewit<br />
as an engineer estimator.<br />
Berkin Ilbeyi is a software<br />
development engineer intern<br />
at Amazon.<br />
