Cara Murphy of NYC is associate
marketing manager at Juvenile
Diabetes Cure Alliance, a nonprofit
that maximizes donations for type 1
diabetes research by better informing
donors. Cara also volunteers as travel
and leisure editor for Lifestyle +
Charity Magazine, a publication that
promotes philanthropic lifestyles and
a nominee for Best Philanthropic
Business of the Year–East in this
year’s CLASSY Awards.
Mark Palframan, who is a
graduate research assistant in
Virginia Tech’s aerospace and ocean
engineering department, is pursuing
his master’s and Ph.D. in aerospace
engineering.
Recently engaged, Marc
Quilling and Brittni Kitaen Evans
plan to marry in fall 2014.
Belinda Sabinda is a science
fellow at Lawrenceville School,
New Jersey.
Now in her second year in
Teach for America, Ingrid Warner
is teaching seventh- and eighthgrade
social studies and tenth-grade
English at Fountain Square Academy
in Indianapolis. She expects to
complete her master’s in teaching
at Marian University in May.
Haruki Yamaguchi is a graduate
program analyst at Deutsche Bank.

Celebrate
Lafayette’s
Founding
For the past two years, on March 9,
more than 500 alumni from
Hong Kong to Dallas and from
San Francisco to Boston have
gathered in 20 locations for
“Wine 3⁄9,” a celebration of the
signing of the charter by the governor
of Pennsylvania March 9, 1826,
establishing Lafayette College.
Alumni are encouraged to gather
on March 9, 2013, for this annual
event. Registration and details at

2012
Anna Schulman, who
is enrolled in Lehigh’s
one-year master’s program in
structural engineering, says the
program is a “dream come true.”
Despite the university’s impressive
structures lab, Anna was adamant
that her gratitude and love for
Lafayette remains unfaltering.
Lauren Firth and Mike
DiPietro, who both started work in
Allentown, Pa., joined Sam
Courtney and Brian Peacock in
exploring Bethlehem this past
summer.
Dan Ricken and Matthew
Scheps took a summer road trip
across the continental United States.
Their time in Ohio included a visit
to Bowling Green University, where
Dan planned to begin a master’s in
theater arts this fall.
Joel Hindelang began work as a
project engineer with Worth & Co.,
while Matthew Scheps joined Kiewit
as an engineer estimator.
Berkin Ilbeyi is a software
development engineer intern
at Amazon.
