1240 KO System<br />

1240.1 Participation<br />

All competitors are admitted to the Qualification run according to the<br />

corresponding Series Rules.<br />

1241 Mode and time frame<br />

Due to organisational reasons it should not be permitted to hold another event<br />

on the same day.<br />

1241.1 Preliminary Round (qualification run) - course 1<br />

- Classical execution, traditional course length and vertical drop<br />

- Starting order according to the corresponding Series Rules<br />

- Valid for FIS points with FIS adder<br />

- The starting numbers remain the same for the complete event<br />

1241.2 Intermediate Round, 1 st run - course 2<br />

The thirty (30) fastest competitors from the Preliminary Round start in an<br />

elimination heat (the 30 th against the 1 st , etc.). The three (3) best lucky looser<br />

are qualified for the next run and are ranked in order of their race time after the<br />

15 qualified racers.<br />

If two competitors from the same heat do not finish (DNF) or are disqualified<br />

(DSQ) in the 1 st run, the lucky loser option is adopted (the fourth best lucky<br />

loser will be qualified for the 2 nd run). In case of a tie, both competitors advance<br />

to the next run.<br />

1241.3 Intermediate Round, 2 nd run - course 3<br />

The fifteen (15) qualified competitors plus the 3 fastest lucky losers (only 2<br />

lucky losers in case of a tie in the 1 st Intermediate Round) again compete in an<br />

elimination run (the 18 th against the 1 st , etc.).<br />

If two competitors from the same heat are DNF or DSQ in the 2 nd run, the lucky<br />

loser from the 2 nd run will be qualified for the 3 rd run (final run) in order to have<br />

nine (9) competitors. In case of a tie in one heat, both competitors advance to<br />

the final.<br />

1241.4 Final Run - course 3<br />

The nine (9) qualified competitors (10 competitors in case of a tie in the 2 nd<br />

Intermediate Round) start in the reversed order of their times in the 2 nd run of<br />

the Intermediate Round.<br />

1242 Results after the Intermediate Rounds and the Final<br />

1242.1 After the 1 st run of the Intermediate Round, ranks 19 - 30 are allocated (ranking<br />

according to times, in case of DNF, DNS or DSQ according to the time in the<br />

Qualification Round).<br />
