607 Age Limits<br />

607.1 The FIS competition year is July 1 st - June 30 th of the following year.<br />

In order to compete in international competitions (except children's<br />

competitions) a competitor must have reached his 15 th birthday before the<br />

end of the calendar year (January 1 st - December 31 st ) in question.<br />

The right to compete starts at the beginning of the competition year (July<br />

1 st ) even if the competitor has not yet reached his 15 th birthday at that<br />

time.<br />

607.2 International junior competitions are restricted to those competitors whose<br />

20 th birthday falls in or after the calendar year in question.<br />

1) 1 st year junior I: maximum number of starts per season in Giant Slalom<br />

and Slalom events counting for FIS points = 25. Any results from races<br />

after the maximum of 25 starts for the first year Junior I athletes are<br />

cancelled and therefore do not count for FIS points. There is no limit to<br />

participation in the speed events Downhill, Super-G and Super<br />

Combined.<br />

The Sub-Committee for Classification will inform the FIS Council of any<br />

infringements of the rule.<br />

608 Children’s International Alpine Competitions<br />

608.1 Approval by the FIS<br />

International children’s competitions are to be approved by the FIS<br />

and published in the FIS Calendar.<br />
