1001.2 Length of the Course<br />

The length of the course must be measured with either a measuring tape,<br />

a wheel or GPS and has to be published on the start list and the results.<br />

1001.3 Gates<br />

1001.3.1 A Super-G gate consists of four slalom poles (art. 680.2.1.2) and two<br />

flags.<br />

1001.3.2 The gates must be alternately red and blue. The gate flags are to be<br />

approx. 75 cm wide and approx. 50 cm high. They are fastened between<br />

the poles so that the lower edge of the flags is approx. 1 m above the<br />

snow and should be capable of tearing or breaking away (art. 690).<br />

1001.3.3 The gates must be at least 6 m and at most 8 m wide for open gates and<br />

at least 8 m and at most 12 m for vertical gates. The gate flags are<br />

fastened in such a way so they should tear or break away (art. 690).<br />

1001.3.4 The Super-G must be set as follows: (number of direction changes by<br />

rounding up or down of the decimals)<br />

For FIS level events 7% of the vertical drop equals the minimum number<br />

of direction changes. For OWG, WSC, WJC and COC level events 6% of<br />

the vertical drop equals the minimum number of direction changes.<br />

The distance between the turning poles of two successive gates must be<br />

at least 25 m (exception: art. 1003.1.1).<br />

Children's competitions: minimum 8%, maximum 10% direction changes of<br />

the vertical drop.<br />

Entry League (ENL): minimum 7% of the vertical drop<br />
