601.4.1.7 For Olympic Winter Games and FIS World Ski Championships a visiting<br />

nation can be represented on the Jury by only one FIS Council appointed<br />

member (not including the TD).<br />

601.4.2 Appointment of the Jury for International Races (World Cup: see World<br />

Cup Rules)<br />

601.4.2.1 The Sub-Committee for Alpine Technical Delegates appoints the<br />

Technical Delegate.<br />

601.4.2.2 The TD appoints<br />

- the Referee<br />

and for Downhill and Super-G, the Assistant Referee.<br />

- He substitutes Jury members in case of force majeure<br />

601.4.2.3 For international races for ladies the Jury should where possible include a<br />

lady.<br />

601.4.2.4 The Chief of Race must belong to the organising National Ski Association.<br />

601.4.3 Exclusions<br />

601.4.3.1 A competitor cannot be a member of the Jury.<br />

601.4.4 Tenure of the Jury<br />

601.4.4.1 The appointed Jury members gather for their first meeting prior to the first<br />

Team Captain's meeting.<br />

601.4.4.2 The active duty of the Jury begins with its first meeting and ends, if no<br />

protest is submitted, at the expiration of the protest deadline, otherwise<br />

after dealing with all submitted protests.<br />

601.4.5 Franchise and Voting (WC: See also FIS World Cup Rules)<br />

The TD is chairman of the Jury. He conducts the meetings. Each of the<br />

following has one vote in the Jury:<br />

601.4.5.1 For Olympic Winter Games and FIS World Ski Championships, all Jury<br />

members.<br />

601.4.5.2 For International races<br />

The TD, Chief of Race, Referee and in the case of Downhill and Super-G,<br />

the Assistant Referee.<br />

601.4.5.3 Decisions are made by simple majority vote of members present and<br />

voting (exception art. 646.3).<br />

601.4.5.4 In the case of a tie, the TD has the casting vote (also see FIS World Cup<br />

Rules).<br />

601.4.5.5 Minutes must be kept of all meetings and decisions of the Jury and signed<br />

by each individual member of the Jury, with each individual vote on<br />

decisions recorded, as per art. 601.3.7.<br />
