6. Not saving images as PNGs, GIFs, or JPGs. As previously mentioned, the
three main image file formats used with the Internet today are PNGs, GIFs,
and JPGs. However, a Web page can also use BMP files, and the browser
will display them. The header image of Figure 7.26 was saved as a BMP. It is
159KB, but if it had been saved as a GIF, it could have been saved at
around 14KB.
Figure 7.37 is a photo saved as a JPG that is 4KB, while the same image
saved as a BMP file (Figure 7.38) is 166KB.
