TESTING PROCEDURE<br />
<strong>Joint</strong> <strong>Stiffness</strong> Summary<br />
A total of 135 tests were conducted. For each joint, three samples were tested three times in each<br />
direction. The load applied and the resulting deflections were measured.<br />
Data<br />
The deflection for each test was measured at increments as the joint was cyclically loaded and unloaded.<br />
The average slope of the measured deflections was fit and used to calculate the joint stiffness. An<br />
explanation and example of these results is shown below.<br />
The test results were evaluated for repeatability. Figure 12 compares the test results with the curve fit for<br />
the Fore/Aft loadcase of <strong>Joint</strong> 1. Three samples of <strong>Joint</strong> 1 were tested. Three tests were conducted on<br />
each sample. The curve fit for each sample, using the data from all three tests on the sample, was<br />
averaged.<br />
