As the fabric moves back and forth in the stretch stitch<br />

sewing, guide the fabric carefully to keep the seams<br />

straight,<br />

NOTE: If the patterns are uneven when sewing with a<br />

particular fabric, adjust them with the stretch<br />

stitch balancing dial.<br />

Adjusting Stretch Stitch Balance<br />

The sewing results of the stretch stitch patterns may vary<br />

depending upon the sewing conditions, such as sewing<br />

speed, type of the fabric, number of layers etc.<br />

Always make test sewing on a scrap piece of the fabric<br />

that you wish to use.<br />

(A) If the pattern is compressed, turn the stretch stitch<br />

balancing dial in the direction of “ + ”.<br />

(C) If the pattern is drawn out, turn the stretch stitch<br />

balancing dial in the direction of “ – ”.<br />

NOTE: In normal sewing, set the dial to the neutral<br />

position, i.e. the groove on the dial is centered<br />

This dial is also used to adjust the pitch balance of the<br />

auto buttonhole.<br />

(A) If the left row is coarser than right, turn the stretch<br />

stitch balancing dial in the direction of “ + ”.<br />

(B) If the right row is coarser than left, turn the stretch<br />

stitch balancing dial in the direction of “ – ”.<br />
