Precious Blood
On this solemnity we focus our attention on the Body
and Blood of Christ. We listen to the story of the renewal of
the old covenant, which Moses sealed by splashing the blood
of animals on the altar of sacrifice, as well as on the people.
Jesus, whose blood is the blood of the new covenant, shed
that precious blood on the cross, saving us from sin and
promising us everlasting life. Blood is the life source that
courses through our bodies. The precious blood of Christ is
the life source for our spirits. Today may we, like the
psalmist, offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving to the Lord, whose
body and blood strengthens us to bring the Good News to
everyone we meet.

STEWARDSHIP & FAITH
Time, Talent, Treasure.
Putting God First?
The bishops’ stewardship pastoral asks, “And what do
Christians bring to the Eucharistic celebration and join
there with Jesus’ offering?” The answer: “Their lives
as Christian disciples; their personal vocations and the
stewardship they have exercised regarding them; their
individual contributions to the great work of restoring
all things in Christ.
Your Stewardship in Treasure
DOES GOD CARE WHAT I WEAR TO CHURCH?
Summer activities and vacations can make getting to Mass
each week seem like a juggling act. Harder still is finding the
time to dress properly and prepare as we would like. But
approaching all aspects of the Eucharist carefully can deepen
our Communion with Christ. What we wear can help.
Make it feel special. If you were invited to a friend’s house
for an evening, wouldn’t you wear something nice to honor
your friend? Sunday Mass is a special time for you and God.
Wearing good clothes makes it feel special.
Send a message. Mass is also a communal celebration.
When you look nice in church, you send a message to your
Catholic brothers and sisters that you value your time together
in God’s name.
Use this guideline. When deciding what to wear in Church,
think about this: If it’s something you would wear to a picnic,
to play a sport, or to clean out the garage or house, don’t wear
it to church–even during the summer.
TRAVELING MADONNA Statue of Our Lady of
Fatima will be in the home of Jo Sodano during the week
of June 14th.
SANCTUARY LAMP will burn in memory of
William Bartus and Ronald Francisco during the
week of June 14th at the request of Gloria
Francisco.
ALTAR BREAD AND WINE for the week
of June 14th were donated in memory of
George E. Finger, a gift from the Family.
