THE MASS INTENTION
BOOK FOR 2011
The 2011 Book for Mass Intentions will be open on Monday, February
15th between the hours of 9:45 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. in the gymnasium.
In the spirit of fairness, parishioners will be limited to a total of 5
intentions. (Three weekday and 2 weekends). We appreciate your
cooperation in complying with this process. After April 5, 2010,
parishioners will be able to request additional intentions. In addition to
Mass intentions, we will be continuing donations in memorial of loved
ones for the weekly Sanctuary Lamp offering $25.00, Devotional Area
Flowers offering $50.00 and Altar Bread & Wine offering $50.00. Thank
you for your anticipated cooperation.
SOLEMN EUCHARISTIC ADORATION
Thursday, January 21st
All are cordially invited to spend time in prayer during
Solemn Eucharistic Adoration this Thursday, January
21st beginning at 3:00 p.m. and concluding with
Benediction at 6:45 p.m. During adoration we will have
communal prayer, periods of silence for personal prayer
and meditation, including the Rosary for Life and the
Divine Mercy Chaplet. There will be a two-fold theme: St. Agnes—our
patroness on her feast day and Respect for Life—praying for an end to
abortion and for those who will travel to our nation’s capital the next day
to participate in the annual March for Life.

March for Life in Washington, DC
Join us as we stand up for life at the annual March
for Life in Washington, DC on Friday, January
22nd. Cost is $10 to reserve a seat, which will be
returned to you on the bus. The day will begin
with a Mass at 6:15 a.m. at the Knights of
Columbus Hall in Linden, followed by light
refreshments. The bus will leave the Knights
parking lot at 7:00 a.m. and return to Linden by
10:00 p.m. Anyone who wishes to go should call
St. John the Apostle’s Rectory ASAP (908-486-
6363) to reserve seating. Seating is limited.
Parish Office Hours
To better serve parishioners’ needs, the Parish Office
of St. Agnes Church—presently located in the rectory
(the priests’ residence)—is now “open for business”
for many more hours:
Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Sunday 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Notices for the bulletin must be submitted to the
Parish (Rectory) Office no later than 12 noon Monday

Elijah Cup Program
Please prayerfully consider taking the Elijah Cup into
your home for a week of prayer for vocations. It is an
honor and a privilege for the laity to support this
ministry. During the month of January, the Elijah Cup

Second Grade News
In science the second graders have just completed a
project on sharks. They have learned why many
kinds of sharks are endangered and what we can do
to help.
The students are becoming aware of how daylight
hours expand from winter through spring by
tracking the times of sunrise and sunset everyday
from December 21st to June 21st. Cursive writing
is a brand new skill that is taught in second grade.
The children will be receiving two sacraments for
the first time: First Reconciliation and First
Eucharist. They are presently preparing themselves
to receive God’s loving forgiveness in the
sacrament of Reconciliation.
