Men and Women (continued) CCW May Crowning Women of St. Mary Immaculate Parish, mark your calendars for the CCW May Crowning Mass Thursday, May 2, 12:00 p.m. in Cana Hall. CCW West Will Deanery Spring Institute All women of the parish are invited to attend the West Will Deanery Spring Institute on Wednesday, May 15, from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. The theme for the evening is Faith In Action. Registration in the Commons from 5:15 – 5:45 p.m.; Mass in the Church at 6:00 p.m. Dinner is at 7:00 p.m. in Cana Hall, and guest speaker from 7:45 – 9:00 p.m. The cost is $12 per person. Thank you for your continued support. Daybreak Update What is Daybreak? Daybreak is a homeless shelter located in downtown Joliet. The evening meals for the residents are provided solely by contributions prepared and served from the congregations of local churches and community organizations. This ministry at St. Mary’s has committed to supplying the dinner six times per year along with the provisions for breakfast the following day. We need you! Since this is meant to be a parish ministry, we ask that everyone watch the weekly bulletin for the dates and times for each dinner. Please sign up to donate to the hungry. It truly is a way to help those in need. May meal. Our next meal is Tuesday, May 7. The pick up time is 5:30 – 6:00 p.m. in front of the church. We will be serving a pork chop dinner including baked potatoes, vegetable casseroles and salads. The sign up poster will be in the commons after all Masses beginning the weekend of April 20 and 21 until May 7. Please check the poster for details. If cooking is not for you consider donating one of following: fresh fruit, salad, dessert, 2 liter bottles of soda, orange juice or fruit juice, dry cereal, hot cereal, eggs, bacon, tea, and coffee. Christian Service, Pastoral Care, and Social Justice Pray for Our Service Men and Women Hour of Silent Prayer On the third Friday of each month, please devote an hour with us to pray for those who wear our uniforms. Come on Friday, May 17 to pray in the St. Mary Immaculate Adoration Chapel at 6:00 p.m. Please help to provide spiritual support to our military families, who have loved ones currently deployed and to remember those who are giving and have given so much of themselves through their unselfish service to our country. St. Anne’s Sewing Circle We invite you to support our ministry on the second Saturday of May in the Small Meeting Room in the Commons. We mend clothes and household items, sew hems, badges, buttons, etc. Drop off your items and pick them up on the same day. We have a 3-item limit. We will be available on the second Saturday of every month in the Small Meeting Room in the Commons. Education and Formation Ladies Night Out The SMI Home and School Association is pleased to announce their first annual “Ladies Night Out” on Thursday, May 2 from 7:00 - 10:00 p.m. in the St Mary Immaculate Gym.
