Catholic Charities - Feed the Hungry!
Catholic Charities has a special opportunity to raise funds for those who are hungry in your community.
Alan Shawn Feinstein, a philanthropist dedicated to eliminating hunger in our country, has issued a
challenge that says that he will add some of his own money for each donation we receive to feed the
hungry. The challenge runs through April 30. The more money Catholic Charities raises, the more of his
money we will receive! Last year, this challenge helped raise over $26,000 which was used to feed the

Catholic Charities Seeks Volunteer for Joliet Office
Catholic Charities is looking for volunteers who are interested in joining our reception coverage
team. Volunteers are needed Tuesdays and Wednesdays from Noon – 1:30 p.m.
The volunteers will be responsible for answering and directing all incoming calls and greeting
guests. It would be helpful for the volunteer to have experience working with a multi-line phone
system. Bilingual and computer skills are helpful, but not required. Other volunteer opportunities
are available for individuals interested in office filing.

Rent/Mortgage Assistance Available
Catholic Charities’ Daybreak Center currently has funds available for Rent/Mortgage Assistance.
Rent/Mortgage Packets can be picked up at Daybreak Center, 611 E. Cass Street in Joliet, Monday-
Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. No appointment is necessary to pick up a packet.
Catholic Charities also provides assistance with Emergency Services, including emergency food
boxes, food vouchers, vouchers for clothing, furniture, housewares and hygiene items, prescription
and identification assistance as funds are available.
Please call Daybreak Center at 815-774-4663 for more information on how to access our Emergency
Services. Hours are Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Closed from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.
