Enjoy the natural backdrop of the wonderful west<br />
coast, from the beach with its historic fortifications, the<br />
dune grasslands and the dense reed-bed surrounding<br />
the pond, habitat for a variety of species throughout<br />
the year. Discover wild orchids in May within the<br />
National Trust’s Nature Reserve and you may even see<br />
the marsh harriers which nest here. There is a host<br />
of birds, insects – butterflies, dragonflies and other<br />
creepy-crawlies to see on this walk so don’t forget your<br />
binoculars!<br />

This is the area where famous local artist Edmund<br />
Blampied grew up. Start in Samuel Curtis’s forgotten,<br />
Victorian, sub-tropical garden where crumbling walls<br />
and steps with weed-covered terraces tell the story of<br />
a garden lost in time for almost 100 years. Visits include<br />
the stunning and colourful gardens of ‘Les Vaux’ with its<br />
own nature reserve, peacocks and red squirrels and Rozel<br />
Manor with its varied garden of palms, wild areas, a lake<br />
and a private chapel.<br />

the route of the Jersey Eastern Railway back to the Pier.<br />

Journey through the remains of personnel shelters,<br />
bunkers and crawl trenches from the Occupation that<br />

shrubs and wild flowers, which has created a refuge for a<br />
diversity of wildlife from red squirrels to bats.<br />

brisker pace.<br />
Day 1 takes you from St Helier to Bonne Nuit via the<br />
east coast, passing Mont Orgueil and St Catherine’s<br />
breakwater and heading along the north coast past<br />
Rozel to Bonne Nuit. Day 2 heads from Bonne Nuit to La<br />
Corbière along the cliff paths passing Devil’s Hole, Grève<br />
de Lecq and Grosnez and Day 3 leaves La Corbière<br />
behind, crossing St Brelade’s Bay, Portelet Common and<br />
heading through St Aubin, before finishing back in St<br />
Helier. Bring a packed lunch and refreshments.<br />
