facies area, Hindeodus minutus z<strong>on</strong>e and Hindeodus parvus z<strong>on</strong>e<br />

are outlined. In basinal facies area, Hindeodus minutus, H. parvus<br />

and Isarcicella isarcica z<strong>on</strong>es also can be recognized. Kozur et<br />

al.(1994/1995) pointed out that <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> first appearance <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> H. parvus is<br />

not facies related and can be discovered both in amm<strong>on</strong>oid- free<br />

shallow water deposits and in amm<strong>on</strong>oid - bearing pelagic deposits.<br />

Kozur (1996) also vividly expressed his oppositi<strong>on</strong> to Orchard’s<br />

c<strong>on</strong>clusi<strong>on</strong> in more than two pages. The evidence presented in<br />

his paper need us to pay more attenti<strong>on</strong>.<br />

Therefore, <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> assumpti<strong>on</strong> that parvus is a shallow water c<strong>on</strong>od<strong>on</strong>t<br />

should be re-assessed. Intensive sedimentological and<br />

palaeoecological analysis in c<strong>on</strong>od<strong>on</strong>t bi<str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g>acies study are required<br />

before we reach a reliable c<strong>on</strong>clusi<strong>on</strong> <strong>on</strong> <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> ecology <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />

hindeodids and g<strong>on</strong>dolellids.<br />
