Permian Research

My colleagues and I would like to alert Permophiles to some
projects completed or in progress that deal with <strong>the</strong> Permian.
These include:
(1)Stevens, C.H., Stone, Paul, Dunne, George, and o<strong>the</strong>rs, in
press, Paleozoic and Mesozoic evolution <strong>of</strong> east-central California:
International Geology Review (to be published with o<strong>the</strong>r
Hall Symposium papers). A substantial portion <strong>of</strong> this paper
deals with Permian structural development.
(2)Stone, Paul, and Stevens, C.H., Stratigraphy and contact
relations <strong>of</strong> rocks near <strong>the</strong> Permian-Triassic boundary, sou<strong>the</strong>rn
Inyo Mountains, California: New data and interpretations.
Essentially completed, but not yet submitted.
(3)Revision <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> classification <strong>of</strong> Permian colonial corals in
<strong>the</strong> Boreal realm by J. Fedorowski, W. Bamber, and C. Stevens.
Work still in progress.
(4) A new look at <strong>the</strong> Permian paleobiogeographic affinity <strong>of</strong>
<strong>the</strong> Wrangellian terrane by P. Belasky, R. Hanger, and C.
Stevens. This work is well underway.
