5. CONCLUSION<br />
The safety measures described in this sub-chapter are illustrated <strong>and</strong> detailed for each transient<br />
considered in the fault schedule. This fault schedule illustrates that the plant is protected by two<br />
diverse lines of protection for the most frequent events as detailed in the analyses of functional<br />
diversity provided in Sub-chapter 16.5. The efficiency of the plant to protect people <strong>and</strong> the<br />
environment from radiation exposure is highlighted in the deterministic radiological<br />
consequences analyses provided in Sub-chapter 14.6 <strong>and</strong> the probabilistic analyses provided in<br />
Sub-chapter 15.5. These two contributions form an important element in the demonstration that<br />
the ALARP principle is met by the UK EPR.
