approach<br />
Mourad is skilled <strong>and</strong> experienced in all hair extension techniques, but his<br />
preferred method is the innovative ultrasonic cold fusion method. This process<br />
uses ultrasound energy to attach the hair extensions to the client’s natural roots.<br />
The result is natural-looking hair extensions that are virtually non-detectable.<br />
‘The technology is so advanced <strong>and</strong> the bonding so seamless,’ says<br />
Mourad. ‘It achieves impeccable results <strong>and</strong> the extensions can be completely<br />
undetectable to the eye. And, because there is no use of heat, glue or clips to<br />
bond the extensions, your natural hair is not damaged.’<br />
When applying the extensions, emphasis is placed on properly blending colour<br />
<strong>and</strong> thickness with the natural hair. Attached str<strong>and</strong> by str<strong>and</strong>, the extensions<br />
can be attached to long, short, straight or wavy hair as long as the natural length<br />
is more than 2cm. Each str<strong>and</strong> has about 20 hairs in it <strong>and</strong> a full head can take<br />
from 100 to 300 str<strong>and</strong>s, depending on the required thickness. In just a few<br />
hours, hair is transformed from short, thin str<strong>and</strong>s to thick, long locks.<br />
‘The latest advances provide long <strong>and</strong> voluminous hair without the need to<br />
wait for your natural hair to grow out,’ says Mourad. ‘It can completely transform<br />
your look.’<br />
Extensions can last anywhere between six <strong>and</strong> 12 months. Once attached,<br />
the extensions can be treated as normal. ‘Care for your extensions the way you<br />
would your natural hair,’ Mourad advises. ‘It’s important to be particularly careful<br />
when combing <strong>and</strong> blow-drying your hair. However, hair extensions can be cut<br />
<strong>and</strong> coloured just like your natural hair.’<br />
