Year 8
Miss L Jenkins and Mr A. Meddins
This has been an active term for Year 8. All
pupils have embarked enthusiastically on the
electronic version of the Real Game. This is
an effective and fun way of allowing pupils a
glimpse of what it is like living and working as
an adult. Mr Pritchard from Careers Wales
has also been helping to prepare our pupils
for their option choices later on this year.
Alongside this, assemblies have taken place
and recognition has been given to World
events, activities and the precepts of the
week, including The Real Game, 9-11,
Respect, Values, Remembrance and Antibullying
Week. The ‘Is it’ Drama Company
delivered a powerful production and
discussion on bullying. Ms. Emyr from the
Rotary Club spoke about polio and the
planting a crocus campaign. PC Mudie gave
several informative presentations on
Halloween, fireworks and gangs. She has
also started her lessons on Drug Awareness.
This year our School Council
Representatives are Emma Davies and
Harry Jowett.
Each form has elected representatives for
the Year 8 Council. They are as follows:

8M- Milly Williams and Rhys Fford
8X- Emma Davies and Harry Jowett

8O- Sally Jones and Calum O’Neill
8R- Harriet Alderman and William Brown
8K- Elinor Mahoney and Edward Herbert
8L- Seren James and Max Scott
This year our Eco-School Representatives
are Lucy Bond and Harvey Atkins. Ryan
Johns and Michael Regan are our Food &
Fitness Representatives.
Jacob Heaton-Jones, James Senior,
Sarah Brabham, Georgia Atkinson
competed in the All Wales Schools
Liaison Police Quiz recently. The team
came 4 th but the final scores were very
close!

A busy term for 8T, with many getting
involved in sporting activities. Shanice
Donovan plays football for Dinas
Powys under 14 and also represents
the girls’ football team at school.
Emma Llywellyn competed in a karate
competition in Wrexham and won 6-0!
Benjamin Tanner plays football for
Dinas Powys. Samuel White plays
rugby for Penarth and football for Sully
A. Annabel Richards competed in a
recent tennis tournament, representing
Windsor Tennis club and winning 4
trophies. Verity Tucker has been
asked to dance in an upcoming show in
the Paget rooms. Hannah Sood has
recently performed at the Paget Rooms
with the Jeff Guppy School of Musical
Theatre and she has also acted in the
Wizard of Oz in the New Theatre in
Cardiff.

Daniel Watts has represented East
Wales at rugby and is a member of the
Penarth rugby team. He also plays
football for Cardiff City and Dinas
Powys. Matthew Bennett plays
football and dodge ball for the school.
He also plays football for Sully A team
and the Vale of Glamorgan. Isaac
Freeman is also a footballer and plays
for Cardiff. Samuel Jennings is a
member of the school’s rugby and
football teams. Congratulations to
