How to upgrade AR-7284 firmware
Introduction:
Firmware is a kind of mechine code that is embedded in the router to
make it operate normally. The firmware can be upgraded using a web
browser (Windows IE, Firefox, Safari etc.) Edimax will publish the latest
firmware in the web site periodically. It’s suggested not to conduct
firmware upgrade unless there is a severe problem in the current firmware
of the router.
Step by Step:
Step 1 : Save the firmware file sent by Edimax Service or downloaded from
Edimax web site on the Desktop of your PC.
Step 2 : Log on to the router’s management web page at http://192.168.2.1,
select admin user , and enter password. By default, the user name
is “ admin “ ; while password is ” 1234 “. If the password was
changed, and forgetten, please reset the router for recovering the
password.

Step 3 : Click “Browse ” button to search that firmware file.
Step 4 : Click the firmware file in the Desktop and click “Open”.
Step5 : Click “Upgrade Firmware”.
Firmware upgrade steps are finished. Please wait for about 2 minute. The
router will reboot itself automatically.
Warning: Not to power off or disconnect the router ; otherwise the router
may be faulty.
It’s suggested to reset the router by holding the reset button of the rear
panel for 20 seconds with the power on after firmware upgarde.
