for Minority Participation<br />
(UMLSAMP)<br />
<strong>Wentworth</strong> is part <strong>of</strong> an alliance<br />
with eight member institutions<br />
to increase the quality and<br />
quantity <strong>of</strong> underrepresented<br />
minority students completing<br />
baccalaureate degrees in science,<br />
technology, engineering, and<br />
mathematics (STEM) fields.<br />
This program is funded by<br />
the National Science Foundation<br />
with support from its institutional<br />
members, state agencies, and<br />
corporate enterprises.<br />
Summer Math Bridge Program<br />
In summer 2007, <strong>Wentworth</strong><br />
hosted this program to prepare<br />
incoming freshmen in mathematics.<br />
<strong>Wentworth</strong> <strong>of</strong>fers $800<br />
stipends to a select population<br />
<strong>of</strong> underrepresented minority<br />
students and other <strong>Wentworth</strong><br />
students for their active participation<br />
in the program and for<br />
being program ambassadors.<br />
