.2 Term: Members of the Steering Committee shall serve a term commencing with appointment<br />

or election and extend until the last day of the next Olympic Games.<br />

.3 Responsibility: The Steering Committee shall operate under the direction of the National<br />

Team Director to create a National Team program; expedite decisions regarding that program;<br />

and plan for specific needs of the National Team in preparation for international competition.<br />

.4 Operation: The Steering Committee shall operate according to policies adopted and published<br />

in the OIOC Policy Manual.<br />

506.10 Senior Development Committee<br />

.1 The Senior Development Committee shall consist of ten members appointed by the President,<br />

at least five of whom shall be coaches and two of whom shall be athletes.<br />

.2 Each non-athlete member shall serve a four-year term, staggered so that one-fourth of such<br />

members are appointed each year.<br />

.3 The Senior Development Committee shall provide technical input for the structure of championship<br />

meets, for developing athletes at the post-age group level, and for the transitioning<br />

of athletes from Senior to National Team.<br />

506.11 Age Group Development Committee<br />

.1 The Age Group Development Committee shall consist of ten members appointed by the<br />

President, with at least one representative from each Zone. At least five of the members<br />

shall be coaches and two shall be athletes.<br />

.2 Each non-athlete member shall serve a four-year term, staggered so that one-fourth of such<br />

members are appointed each year.<br />

.3 The Age Group Development Committee shall identify and promote ideas to assist <strong>USA</strong><br />

<strong>Swimming</strong> in developing Age Group swimmers and shall provide assistance in transitioning<br />

swimmers from Age Group to Senior.<br />

ARTICLE 507<br />

house of delegates<br />

507.1 Organization<br />

.1 All <strong>USA</strong> <strong>Swimming</strong> officers and all voting members of the Board of Directors, the Olympic<br />

International Operations Committee, the Age Group Development Committee, the <strong>Rule</strong>s &<br />

Regulations Committee, the Registration/Membership Committee, the Credentials/Elections<br />

Committee, the Senior Development Committee, and past <strong>USA</strong> <strong>Swimming</strong> Presidents shall<br />

be members of the House of Delegates. Membership on any committee notwithstanding,<br />

<strong>USA</strong> <strong>Swimming</strong> employees shall not be members of the House of Delegates.<br />

.2 The members of the Athletes Executive Committee and ten (10) National Representatives,<br />

five (5) being appointed each year by the Athletes Vice-President and each serving a two (2)<br />

year term, shall be members of the House of Delegates. The National Representatives and<br />

their alternates must at the time of their appointment be engaged in senior swimming, or<br />

have competed in <strong>USA</strong> <strong>Swimming</strong> Championships within five (5) years preceding their<br />

appointment. The President may appoint, from a slate of nominees submitted by the Ath-<br />

<strong>2012</strong> <strong>Rule</strong>s & Regulations 123
