C Determination and recording of official time.<br />

(1) Receiving and reviewing the automatic and/or semi-automatic timing results from<br />

the Timing Equipment Operator and comparing primary timing results with the<br />

back-up timing results to determine their validity.<br />

(2) Receiving the times recorded by the Head Lane Timers from the Chief Timer and<br />

the order of finish data from the Place Judges and using that data to the extent<br />

needed to determine the official time for each swimmer.<br />

(3) Unless otherwise directed, notifying the Referee whenever a time obtained by the<br />

primary timing system cannot be used as the Official Time.<br />

(4) Recording disqualifications approved by the Referee.<br />

D Determination of the official results.<br />

E Publication and posting of results and scores.<br />

.3 Shall perform other duties assigned by the Referee.<br />

102.15 SCORERS — In a scored meet, shall receive from the Administrative Official the results<br />

in timed finals, or consolation finals and championship finals for each event. They shall compile<br />

team and high-point scores as applicable.<br />

102.16 RECORDER OF RECORDS — Shall obtain from the Administrative Official all times<br />

made in each event, including preliminaries and finals, shall have proper application forms and<br />

shall duly process all record claims as set forth in Article 104.<br />

102.17 TIMING PERSONNEL AND THEIR DUTIES<br />

.1 Chief Timer — The Chief Timer shall:<br />

A Assure the assignment of Lane Timers to lanes and the designation of one timer on<br />

each lane to be the Head Lane Timer.<br />

B On the starting signal, start a watch(es) on every race. The time of this watch shall be<br />

used if a Lane Timer’s watch fails.<br />

C Be responsible for delivering all manual watch times, including those of disqualified<br />

swimmers, to the Timing Judge.<br />

.2 Head Lane Timer — The Head Lane Timer shall:<br />

A Determine whether the swimmer or relay team is present and in the correct lane, heat<br />

and event, and record the names and order of relay swimmers prior to the start of the<br />

race, and determine that the relay swimmers are swimming in the order listed.<br />

B Determine and record manual watch times or the absence of a swimmer or the relay<br />

team seeded in that lane.<br />

C Assign one timer to time relay splits and initial distance times if requested by the Chief<br />

Timer.<br />

D Report and indicate on the timing recording form if the swimmer has delayed in touching<br />

or has missed the touch pad at the finish, or if there is reason to believe the semiautomatic<br />

or manual times may be inaccurate.<br />

.3 Lane Timers — Officials assigned as Lane Timers may simultaneously operate two dissimi-<br />
