will be established by the National Team Director and may emulate the Olympic Games or Long<br />

Course World Championship program. The men’s 800-meter freestyle and women’s 1500-meter<br />

freestyle will be conducted if the Trials are held in conjunction with the National Championships.<br />

There shall be no relays or scoring in the Olympic Team Selection Meet. Touch pads shall conform<br />

to 103.19.3E. Only United States citizens eligible to represent the United States on the<br />

Olympic or Long Course World Championship teams may compete in these Trials.<br />

207.6 QUALIFYING TIME STANDARDS<br />

.1 The time standards shall be established by the Senior Development Committee in consultation<br />

with the National Team Director. Time standards shall be designed to allow 900-1000<br />

swimmers in individual events at the <strong>USA</strong> <strong>Swimming</strong> Short Course Championships, the U.S.<br />

Open and the National Championships.<br />

.2 The Senior Development Committee shall develop, one (1) year in advance, the qualifying time<br />

standards for all National Championships/U.S. Opens which will be reported to the House of<br />

Delegates by the Technical Vice President during the annual meeting or to the Board of Directors<br />

when established at a time other than the annual meeting. Qualifying time standards shall<br />

be specified in hundredths of a second, with nine one-hundredths being the constant.<br />

207.7 PROOF OF ENTERED TIME — Procedures for obtaining proof of time shall conform to<br />

the current edition of the <strong>USA</strong> <strong>Swimming</strong> SWIMS Time Module Policy Manual. Official times<br />

achieved in accordance with the requirements of 102.24.1 may be used to enter the meet.<br />

.1 Individual Events — All individual entry times must be made during the correct qualifying<br />

period and must be proven prior to the scratch deadline for that event through the SWIMS<br />

database.<br />

.2 Relay Events — Times for each entered relay team must be submitted with the entry. This<br />

entered time must be proven prior to the scratch deadline for each entered relay team, in<br />

aggregate or as a team, through the SWIMS database. For the purpose of proving times, a<br />

club may name a swimmer on only one of its relay teams in each event. Once the relay team<br />

or teams have been proven, any swimmer listed by that organization on the entry form is eligible<br />

to compete on that relay team.<br />

.3 Responsibility Clause<br />

A The coach, swimmer, or swimmer representative who enters a <strong>USA</strong> <strong>Swimming</strong> championship<br />

thereby attests that all times on the entry are true and correct achieved qualifying<br />

times for each event entered. He/she assumes all responsibility for false or incorrect<br />

times or times which are unacceptable under <strong>USA</strong> <strong>Swimming</strong> rules and shall be<br />

assessed a $100 penalty payable to <strong>USA</strong> <strong>Swimming</strong> for each such time entered, unless<br />

absolved of the fine by the Vice President of Program Operations or designee or Board<br />

of Review. Additional action or penalty may be taken or levied as deemed appropriate by<br />

<strong>USA</strong> <strong>Swimming</strong>.<br />

B Such penalty shall also be levied against any <strong>USA</strong> <strong>Swimming</strong> verification officer who<br />

knowingly entered such a false time(s) into the SWIMS database.<br />

C Appeal of fines are to be made to the Vice President of Program Operations or designee<br />

and/or Board of Review. Any appeal of the decision of the Vice President of Program<br />

Operations or designee shall be in accordance with the provisions of Part Four, specifically<br />

Article 407.<br />
