Architect: Entasis
Competition 2008
The conversion of the Carlsberg
brewery site to a new neighbourhood
with homes, businesses,
public services, sports and culture
was the topic of an open international
architectural competition
with more than 200 entrants. A
Danish firm won with a distinctly
urban project that is almost a
reinterpretation of the urban
ideals of the Renaissance adapted
to modern-day Copenhagen. The
project and its realisation experiment
with urban density and
combine homes and businesses.
