Oral surgery is an every day event in a dental
practice. Fortunately many of the skills learned in
dental school have been refined to enable faster
and better healing. During this hands-on course,
procedures such as ridge preservation, sinus
exposure and root fracture will be discussed.
Tobin Bellamy received his dental degree from the
University of British Columbia. Dr. Bellamy then practiced
general dentistry for three years prior to attending a
residency program at Washington Hospital Center in
Washington DC, where he received his certificate in
Oral Surgery. Dr. Bellamy maintains a private practice
in Coquitlam.

After a short lecture on laser-tissue interaction,
the participants will have a hands-on lab using
the Er, Cr:YSGG laser to perform cavity preps,
troughing, gingivectomy, crown-lengthening,
biopsy, frenectomy, some endodontic and
periodontic procedures using radial-firing tips.
William Chen graduated from Washington University, St.
Louis in 1976, and is a Master of the WCLI and ALD. He
was the chief investigator for Biolase Technology, Inc. in
obtaining FDA clearance on laser root canal therapy and
bone applications. He has lectured in the US, Canada and
the world.
