therapies for plaque and gingivitis control,<br />

Robert Gerlach is a Research Fellow in Worldwide<br />

Clinical Investigations at Procter & Gamble. His clinical<br />

trials research includes initiatives in the areas of caries<br />

prevention, periodontal therapy, and aesthetic dentistry,<br />

especially tooth whitening. Dr. Gerlach’s work experience<br />

includes various government and academic appointments,<br />

as well as extensive private practice experience.<br />

why does a lack of saliva cause dental caries to<br />

get out of control? Helping patients control their<br />

caries risk isn’t always easy, but with a little more<br />

information about saliva, you can make your<br />

restorations last longer.<br />

Brian Nový is an assistant professor of restorative<br />

dentistry at Loma Linda University, where he teaches<br />

a variety of courses including caries management and<br />

evidence-based dentistry. In 2009, the American <strong>Dental</strong><br />

Association awarded Dr. Nový and his office the title,<br />

“Adult Preventive Care Practice of the Year.”<br />

Hilton Head SC. He lectures nationally and abroad and<br />

is a regular contributor to notable dental journals. He is<br />

a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics,<br />

Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists and<br />

Fellow of the International College of Dentists. Dr. Priest<br />

is a former professor in graduate prosthodontics at<br />

Emory University.<br />

This lecture will highlight the use of the Waterlase<br />

iPlus in cosmetic dentistry and walk through the<br />

steps from diagnosis to final bonding to achieve<br />

harmony and balanced smile aesthetics in our<br />

cosmetic cases. Essential lab communication<br />

skills will also be discussed.<br />

Les Rykiss obtained his degree at the University of<br />

Manitoba and is also a graduate and Mentor at the Nash<br />

Institute for <strong>Dental</strong> Learning in Charlotte, NC. He has an<br />

Associate Fellowship in Laser Dentistry from the WCLI,<br />

teaches restorative and pediatric dentistry and writes<br />

articles on cosmetic dentistry and hard and soft tissue<br />

laser use. Dr. Rykiss currently maintains in private<br />

practice in Winnipeg, MB.<br />

clinicians in order to achieve predictable results<br />

and suitable aesthetics. This lecture will review<br />

implant restorative techniques from simple to<br />

complex cases.<br />

Paresh Shah maintains a private practice in Winnipeg<br />

with a focus on implant, cosmetic and interdisciplinary<br />

care. He graduated from the University of Manitoba in<br />

1991 and has a Certificate in Esthetic Dentistry from<br />

the University of Buffalo in 2007. He is a consultant for<br />

several dental manufacturers. He lectures internationally<br />

on aesthetics, implants and interdisciplinary care.<br />
