or a family member’s face, lip, eye or skin that<br />

keeps getting bigger every time we see them?<br />

aware of the difference of “normal” and what<br />

could be “abnormal”, quite possibly saving<br />

their life!<br />

In standup dental comedy Shannon Nanne has educated<br />

health care professionals nationally and internationally<br />

in over 100 courses. In 1994 she graduated from The<br />

University of Pittsburgh School of <strong>Dental</strong> Medicine. As an<br />

author she serves as a Key Opinion Leader for several<br />

companies, publications and associations. She is an<br />

ambassador with OCF, organizing walks and working<br />

with cancer survivors.<br />

imbalances and require special exercise, postural<br />

techniques and fitness guidelines to avoid pain<br />

syndromes or injury<br />

Bethany Valachi is a physical therapist, dental ergonomic<br />

consultant and author of the book, “Practice Dentistry<br />

Pain-Free”. She is CEO of Posturedontics®, a company<br />

that provides research-based dental ergonomic education,<br />

and clinical instructor of ergonomics at OHSU School of<br />

Dentistry in Portland, Oregon.<br />

Hear my stories and see many photographs of<br />

my volunteer travels which started in Madras,<br />

India in 1990, continued in Guatemala, Kiribati in<br />

the South <strong>Pacific</strong> and most recently in Danang,<br />

Vietnam. You will appreciate the dental comforts<br />

we sometimes take for granted!!<br />

Laureen DiStefano received her DDS degree from<br />

McGill University and then completed a General Practice<br />

Residency in Schenectady, NY. She has practiced<br />

dentistry in Jasper, Alberta and Valemount, BC for 25<br />

years (plus a few locums and sabbaticals). Volunteering<br />

and Traveling have been her passion and she has always<br />

loved a good story!<br />

Dealing with Dementia in the Office<br />

extreme vulnerability for those with changing<br />

brains. Their reality, often distorted, is not your<br />

reality. Learn what Dementia is, the Stages of<br />

Dementia, How to deal with the most Common<br />

Distress Issues, and using the 5 R’s & the 4 A’s<br />

in communication.<br />

Ronine Sharp an RN over 35 years, spent the past 8<br />

years studying and screening individuals for memory loss<br />

that may signal dementia. She owns Sharp Dementia<br />

Coaching and is known as “The Memory Nurse”. Her<br />

assistance in a denturist office lead her to “2012 So You<br />

Think You Can Speak” and that success brings her back<br />

for a longer session for the <strong>2013</strong> conference.<br />

The extensively broken-down bicuspid or molar<br />

can be restored in composite resin attractively,<br />

reliably and profitably on a conservative budget<br />

if the right adhesives, flowables, resins, matrixes,<br />

and clinical techniques are used. Procedures<br />

shown will assist clinicians in less complex<br />

restorations.<br />

sponsored educational programs and study clubs. His<br />
