Vahab Youssofzadeh<br />
Vahab Youssofzadeh completed his BSc<br />
Electronics Engineering and MSc Biomedical<br />
Engineering degrees in Iran.<br />
During his studies, he published a total of<br />
eight research papers on artificial intelligence<br />
and brain data analysis. He has worked as<br />
a part-time lecturer at two universities and<br />
as a biomedical engineer at two hospitals.<br />
In 2013, Vahab secured the competitive<br />
Vice-Chancellor’s Research Scholarship to<br />
pursue a PhD in computational neuroscience<br />
at Ulster’s Intelligent Systems Research Centre<br />
(ISRC), under the supervision of Dr KongFatt<br />
Wong-Lin and Professor Girijesh Prasad.<br />
Vahab’s research focuses on developing neural<br />
modelling and neural data analysis techniques.<br />
His work has important implications in<br />
understanding brain dynamics and brain<br />
disorders such as schizophrenia, epilepsy<br />
and stroke.<br />
About a year and half into his PhD programme,<br />
he has already worked on four major research<br />
projects, collaborated with top researchers in<br />
Ireland and the US, and published extensively<br />
in international conference papers.<br />
Vahab is currently receiving further training<br />
to support his contribution to the ISRC’s<br />
Functional Brain Mapping Project.
