It helped her fund a trip in April to the National Training Centre in Florida where she trained and competed in world-class conditions. Consequently Amy made the qualifying time needed to compete in the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, an important stepping stone towards the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil. “The scholarships create opportunities for sports people like me to aim high, fulfil their potential and make their University and their country proud….” Amy Foster Rewarding Excellence Sports Scholarship When Lisa-Marie turned 30 her mum, an active, loving lone parent was diagnosed with a major depressive disorder. This difficult experience focussed her already existing interest in psychology and triggered her decision to return to education. She progressed to an access course and secured a place on a part-time honours degree course at Ulster.
