The Environment Agency’s document ‘<strong>Policy</strong> and Practice for the Protection of Flood Plains’ aims to<br />

assist local planning authorities in their control of development (available in hard copy only from<br />

the Environment Agency). The Agency’s Flood Map, which sets out information on flooding from<br />

rivers and the sea across England and <strong>Wales</strong>, is the basis for the Development Advice Maps in<br />

TAN 15, ‘Development and Flood Risk’.<br />
