among Forsyth County high school students honored on April 30, 2011, by the Forsyth County Bar
Association during a luncheon held in honor of Law Day. Many local judges and attorneys were
present. The Bar Association awarded a scholarship to a deserving senior of each mock trial team in
Forsyth County and also recognized individuals who received an award at the mock trial competition in
February. McLaughlin received the Senior Scholarship for the Pinecrest Academy Mock Trial Team for
her outstanding performance and dedication at the Mock Trial Competition. Meersman was recognized
for his receipt of Best Witness Award. Mock Trial is an extracurricular activity available to all high
school students. The Pinecrest Mock Trial team competes against local schools in presenting a trial to a
judge and jury at the local courthouse. This competition is sponsored by the Georgia Bar Association.
