Souvenir pins and t‐shirts commemorating the anniversary were made available to team members.<br />

Also in 2008, the Jonesboro High School in Jonesboro won <strong>Georgia</strong>’s fourth national title during the<br />

NHSMTC in Wilmington, DE.<br />

2009 – During William H. Noland’s term as chair, the National High School Mock Trial Competition was<br />

held in Atlanta, <strong>Georgia</strong> in May. Also in 2009, Stacy Rieke, the GHSMTC <strong>State</strong> Coordinator was<br />

awarded a YLD Award <strong>of</strong> Achievement for “outstanding service to the pr<strong>of</strong>ession” by YLD President<br />

Joshua C. Bell.<br />

2010 ‐ Under Stacey Evans’ tenure as chair, The “Wildcard” teams were introduced as well as the<br />

Pr<strong>of</strong>essionalism Award sponsored by the Chief Justice’s Commission on Pr<strong>of</strong>essionalism at the state<br />

level <strong>of</strong> competition.<br />

2011 – During Ashley Palmer’s term, the GHSMTC added 2 new regions in Atlanta and Cumming and<br />

revitalized the region in Albany. The 2011 season also saw the largest number <strong>of</strong> teams ever<br />

competing at the state level: eighteen and the introduction <strong>of</strong> the Outstanding Performance Award at<br />

the state level.<br />
