Activity 4: Provide train-the-trainer workshops to familiarize partners and trainers with campaign goals,<br />
audience(s), messages, materials and formats.<br />
Objective 3: Implement SCI prevention education campaign.<br />
Activity 1: Announce launch of campaign using press releases, events, and materials.<br />
Activity 2: Track audience exposure to campaign (i.e. number of hits to website, number of presentations<br />
given, number of audience members for presentation, number of television or radio ads, etc.)<br />
Activity 3: Measure outcomes from campaign and determine next steps.<br />
Need: People with SCI are developing SCI-related complications (i.e. pressure sores, dysreflexia, etc.) in medical facilities<br />
because of a lack of training on appropriate care and effective treatment for people with SCI among medical providers,<br />
particularly in rural areas.<br />
Goal 2: Provide training to increase knowledge of SCI among medical (trauma, acute care, and long-term) and<br />
rehabilitation personnel.<br />
Objective 1: Compile and adapt training materials.<br />
Activity 1: Research (both in and out of state) existing and effective SCI training materials designed for<br />
medical providers.<br />
Activity 2: Modify existing materials or develop new materials, using a wide variety of formats.<br />
Objective 2: Make training opportunities and materials widely available and easily accessible.<br />
Activity 1: Distribute materials to all partner organizations (see below) and list on Commission’s website.<br />
Activity 2: Identify individuals and organizations that would be willing to use training materials, or deliver<br />
and/or host trainings.<br />
