Formative Assessment
• Complete a quick-write that
examines three key elements found
in civilizations that made them
successful and one that may have led
to failure. Students should provide
examples of each and use text for
Notes:
• Chapters 1 and 2 are not part of the regular SSNGS for Social Studies and 8 days is the
current recommendation for coverage. Vocabulary can be posed in a question format to
make “glossary” usage for support only. This is a good unit for the use of graphic
organizers
• Mesoamerica will be addressed later.
