1 This was a typographical based brief, advertising a horror film
festival. I thought of a tag line I felt would work well on my posters.
From this I used words relating to horror to create a texture for my
background. I chose to use obvious horror colours to represent
the theme.
2 I wanted a high quality feel for the magazine, aimed at many
people, as well as UN readers. With this in mind I created a
bellyband to display relevant information and so not to lose the
photography. I feel it successfully displays the high quality concept
I chose.
3 This is a page from my Edinburgh Fringe Festival Programme.
Lines were the theme of the book influenced by tartan. I wanted a
light hearted feel, as it was a comedy festival. I created this using
juxta positioning.
Reflections My time at university Well, as much as I have worked
hard, I’ve played hard too. But now it’s time to enter the big wide
world of work, which I’m looking forward to with anticipation.
University has made me much more aware of design, both good
and bad, and has also helped me to criticise my own work.
Aspirations I am eager to put all I have learnt, both at college and
at university finally into practice, and also to learn about the
business and print side of things. I look forward to gaining vital work
experience in graphic and editorial design and to pursue my career
in this field, hopefully working my way up to my own studio and
team one day.
