b. Water level indicators (continued)<br />

Water Marks. Water marks are the result of sustained water levels and appear as distinct stain<br />

lines on fixed objects and vegetation. These are usually related to the elevated lichen lines, and<br />

can be used to evaluate ordinary or seasonal high water levels.<br />
